Christmas Past

Our first Christmas "abroad". It was wonderful!
We Skyped Christmas with my parents in the afternoon so I didn't even miss out on opening presents with family:) Technology really helps to cure homesickness.
My parents gave Rudy and I a Wii for Christmas, my brother bought us a game and we bought each other the Wii Fit, another game and another controller. We're set.
I must interject here that I am NOT a video game person, at all. Rudy loves them. The Wii was our compromise and we both love it. Although I am surprised at Rudy's love of the Wii Fit, he won't stop exercising and I can't even be mad because, well, he's exercising.
Danae got her first set of wheels from my parents. A brand new tricycle complete with detailing and a handle on the back for mommy. She won't use the pedals and just wants Rudy to push her. That's my princess!!
We had a nice lazy day, so lazy that Danae didn't even get out of her jammies.
On the 26th we went to the Zurich Zoo. We have a seasons pass, so the zoo is a regular day out for us (Danae and I were there the week before). Danae is perfecting all of her animal noises. Her camel sound is awesome. Anyone know the sound a camel makes? It's like a cross between a roar and a moo and a grunt. It's not a pretty sound.
Rudy is back to work today, and usually I am happy when this day comes. I just want my house back and the routine to settle in. This holiday has just been so nice though that I was sad last night thinking about Rudy not being home with me today. Maybe it was because for the entire week when I would say to Danae "Ok, Mommy needs to change your diaper now." Danae would say "No, no, no, no..... Daddy!" He thinks I taught her to do it.
